Provencal sunset

I pulled another on out of the recycle pile and saved it from the dreaded gesso. Often in my older paintings I made good choices for the subject, but was unable to live up to my vision.

I put it up on the easel one more time before deciding to white it out, and decided it deserved more work, or it decided and convinced me.. 

As all my older paintings the original is acrylic.

Here is the state of it after two sessions . I am not happy with the sky yet, but the land is going in the right direction.
